The Civil Aviation Authority has directed that efforts be redoubled to serve pilgrims according to the highest international standards

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership - may God support them - for the unlimited support for the system, stressing that the aviation sector continues to achieve exceptional performance levels as one of the main enablers of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and an embodiment of the objectives of the aviation program.
Advanced global centers
His Excellency noted the sector’s readiness to deal with recent global challenges with high efficiency, through the activation of emergency plans that reflect the growth and strength of air traffic; as the Kingdom’s airports received more than 2,000 flights from neighboring countries’ carriers through a number of the Kingdom’s airports, and transported more than 258,000 passengers during the period from February 28 to May 3, while maintaining the smooth flow of air traffic and raising the quality of the passenger experience.
He added: “We also witnessed remarkable operational success during the peak of the crisis, with air traffic statistics from the first of Ramadan until the ninth of Shawwal 1447 AH recording exceptional figures, as the Kingdom’s airports received more than 12.1 million passengers.”
Al-Duailij revealed that the Kingdom’s airports continued to hold advanced global rankings among the top 100 airports for the fifth consecutive year, and that four of the Kingdom’s airports garnered 14 awards according to the 2026 Skytrax rankings.
Redouble efforts
His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation urged all aviation sector employees to redouble their efforts and dedicate all available resources to providing the best services and facilities forpilgrims, reflecting the Kingdom's prominent position and leadership in serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. He emphasized the continued commitment to following the directives of the wise leadership in providing a seamless and safe travel experience that meets the highest international standards and embodies the Kingdom's care and attention to serving those visiting the Two Holy Mosques.
Following this, the meeting discussed key performance indicators in the aviation sector, major projects, and the most important initiatives and strategies of national carriers, aligning them with the objectives of the aviation program to ensure sustainable growth and enhance the passenger experience.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Taiba Airports Company and Saudi Cargo to strengthen the air cargo and logistics system at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
