The Meteorology Department forecasts unusual rainfall and rising temperatures during April, May, and June

Issued National Center for Meteorology Climate forecasts for the period from April to June 2026, including indicators Rainfall Temperatures across different regions of the Kingdom.
The center explained that April sees an increased likelihood of above-average rainfall in several regions, including northern and eastern Tabuk, eastern and southern Medina, Makkah, Asir, Al-Jawf (excluding the eastern parts), Hail (excluding the eastern parts), Al-Qassim, the Northern Borders, Riyadh, and Najran (excluding the eastern parts)Eastern Province Except for the southern parts, in addition to Al-Baha, Jazan and the southwestern coastal strip of the Kingdom.
Rainfall is expected to range from heavy to very heavy, and may reach unusual levels, especially in the Jazan and Asir regions, while rainfall amounts are expected to be around the normal average in the rest of the regions.

Chance of rain

The center indicated that May will continue to see above-average rainfall in the regions of Asir, Jazan, Al-Baha, and western Najran, as well as southern and parts of eastern Makkah, and parts of western and central Riyadh. Rainfall intensity is expected to range from heavy to very heavy, while rainfall amounts are expected to be within normal averages in the rest of the Kingdom. The center
also noted that June will see above-average rainfall in the regions of Jazan, western Asir, western Al-Baha, and southern and western Makkah, with rainfall intensity expected to range from light to moderate. Rainfall amounts are expected to be within normal averages in the remaining regions.

High temperatures

Regarding temperatures, the center's report predicted that average temperatures would be above normal across most regions of the Kingdom, with varying degrees of increase. The maximum temperature rise is expected to reach approximately 1 degree Celsius in parts of northern Eastern Province, the Northern Borders region, Al-Jawf, northern Madinah, Hail region (excluding its southern and western parts), and Tabuk region (excluding its western parts).
